The client initially asked that certain things be incorporated: ceramic elements from the deceased's studio (below), elements from my Clockwork ring series, organic elements such as the bone in this commission, and my brooch Abbreviated Prop which they asked be removable so that it could be worn. We settled on a slab-like design, divided by a canyon. As I learned more about the man who passed, I began to include more literal elements like the kayak and the bicycle parts.
