This piece was commissioned for a daughter's 40th birthday. The client approached me with an initial idea for an arbor but it evolved into something a bit more. I found a section of playground slide at a salvage yard which became the top and the seed of the piece. The other elements were reconfigured bicycle parts and ceramic fragments: the family owned and operated a well known and much loved bicycle shop in NJ and her mom (who commissioned the piece) is a ceramic artist and potter. The beautiful broken bowls and pots are hers.
